    • its rugged coastline (perfect for seascape photography)

    • Sweden’s oldest lighthouse towering over the island

  • Capture the beautiful autumn colors in the island’s mystical primeval forests

  • Learn how to use long exposures to create stunning seascape images

  • Boat ride to Landsort (Öja) with the chance to spot majestic sea eagles and seals

Just outside of Stockholm lies completely new world of serene nature seemingly untouched by civilization - a cluster of more than 30.000 islands, skerries and rocks that create an incredible scenery and together compose the one of the largest archipelago in the world. Each single of those islands with its own unique charm, it's own story to tell.

Join me on this unique journey to the beautiful Landsort island that has everything you can dream of as photographer - from rugged coastlines to mystical forests and a picturesque fishing village. I am sure you will be astonished and inspired by the scenic beauty of Landsort!

On Sunday morning, we will reach the island after a short boat ride from Ankarudden, a small harbor south of Nynäshamn. If we are lucky, we will be able to spot seals from the boat or even the majestic sea eagle patrolling the coastline from the sky!

On a full day, we will explore Landsort with special focus on nature/landscape photography. We will visit the best photo locations on the island and you will learn how to take outstanding photos - from the rocky coastline to the mystical, primeval forests. At the end of October, we will be able to capture the beautiful autumn colors on the island and will take advantage of the soft light that is created by the low sun during that time of the year. We will take the boat back to the mainland at around 17.30, so we will have the chance to capture the setting sun at the horizon.

Once we are back on the mainland, we will head out for dinner in Nynäshamn. During dinner, we can discuss our achievements of the day and what we have learned. The dinner is optional. If you don’t feel like it, you can also head home directly after arrival at the jetty.

Together we will improve your photography skills and you will be able to create your own stories through photos that speak for themselves. I make sure that you will have an unforgettable photography experience and go home with the feeling to have learned something new!

Transport:

We will meet at around 10.00 on Sunday at the harbor in Ankarudden, south of Nynäshamn. You can get there either by car or bus. You can book a pick up in Stockholm optionally when booking the photo course. After that we will take the ferry to the island. On the island itself we will mainly walk and don’t need a car. Please do not expect to arrive back in Ankarudden on Sunday earlier than 18.00.

Physical Requirements

Please note that we will do some shorter hikes on this trip. The hikes will neither be long nor steep. However, it is important that all participants take care of themselves, especially when we shoot on the cliffs by the coast. The stones can be very slippery. If any location is out of your comfort zone, you’re more than welcome to shoot another location, stay at the hotel and rest, or wait until we get to another more comfortable location for you.

Experience Level

We welcome all experience levels, going from beginners to experienced photographers. A good mix of experience levels means we can also learn from each other. It is important that you bring your own camera and tripod, so you can get the most out of this trip!
